Sun Safety at School

The school is concerned about protecting pupils from sunburn and from skin damage that can be caused by the harmful ultra violet rays in sunlight. The school would like your help and support in this matter. We will be encouraging children to avoid sunburn and over exposure to the sun by:

Seeking shade, particularly during the middle of the day. We have shaded areas for the children to play under.

Wearing suitable hats – Legionnaire and Baseball Caps are available from Mrs Littlefair or the School Office.

Using a High Factor or 1 application Sunscreen (SPF15+) applied before school at home.

Providing the child with an easy to apply sunscreen in a roll on or solid applicator style for top ups through the day.

If your child has any allergies or skin sensitivities you may want to check with your GP before providing a sunscreen.
