Welcome to Year 1 (2020-2021)
Class Teacher – Mrs Bowman
Teaching Assistant – Mrs Curtis
*General Class Information*
As we have now developed our ‘classroom community’ using Class Dojo and are finding this a successful means of communication between home and school, this Class 1 webpage won’t be updated as regularly as it may have been previously.
We are enjoying using Class Dojo to share children’s successes, homework, general updates and communicate with parents/carers at home, and hope you are finding it as useful as we are. If you require any support in using Class Dojo, please do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org 🙂
Please continue to look out for your termly newsletter and a welcome message at the beginning of each term here on the class page.

Mrs Curtis and I hope you have all had an amazing summer holiday filled with lots of fun! We hope you are feeling excited to come back to school as a Year 1 pupil next week! (Wednesday 2nd September) and we can’t wait to see you all and get started on our learning in a classroom again – hooray!
Over the holidays, Mrs Curtis and I have been busy making sure our classroom is ready for you all coming back. We have changed it all around so it does look very different from when some of you were in your bubble in the room. So we have taken some photos to show you what it looks like.
What will the classroom look like ?
How will I get to my classroom ?
You will enter through the gate into our outdoor area and come through into the classroom, when school finishes you will come out this way too. We have tidied it up and given it a little make over, we can’t wait for you to see it and work in it.
What will our topic be?
We will be looking at Toys this half term, Toys today and Toys from the past and how they have changed. I wonder what the toys looked like when I was your age? We will be exploring where we live and enjoying getting back into the swing of reading, maths and writing.
We hope you like the look of your new classroom and are keen to get back to school again to be with all your friends.
Have a great bank holiday weekend, stay safe and we will see you all very soon!
